Our Mission

Since 2014, we have worked collaboratively with the Fort Peck Tribes and Montana State University to create a treatment program focused on helping Native people overcome addiction and lead healthier, happier lives. The mission of the Indigenous Recovery Planning program is rooted in the Nakoda/Dakota word Wa’anija, which means “We refuse to give up.”

This program is designed to support our collective recovery from addiction, helping people live happier and healthier lives. By walking the Red Road—symbolizing the right path of life—we strengthen our cultural connections and strive for freedom from drugs and alcohol. We honor those we have lost and acknowledge the struggles many still face while celebrating the resilience of individuals who have transformed their lives through recovery. Our mission is to inspire hope, purpose, and positive change, showing that a fulfilling life is possible for everyone still on their recovery journey.
